Here's your chance to talk or play out that special someone turning up in the Meadous. Are they so far out of their element that they're now defanged tigers? Do they lead right in with their wicked ways? What is your character's CR even going to think when they meet this person?
 

Post with your own character or the person they most/least want to see again who's a bad thing for them. Feel free to play out encounters in the snow between this character and your regular character's CR, or talk it out with if you're not sure you've got the voice down.

Perhaps the worst thing is that Xemnas doesn't need to do anything to be a distressing presence. All he has to do is exist, or at least, be present. He cannot, after all, be anything less than he has always been and even here it seems that the chill of the void follows him.

He is, of course, just as unrepentant as ever, but this alone doesn't mean that he has any less reason to speak to Even. It simply means that the tone of the conversation is going to be... different. But such is the nature of life at the best of times.

Agatha Craye, Lady Worpleston, is not a happy woman. She has somehow been kidnapped from her home and transported to some strange place beset by an arctic winter. The note on her nightstand - childish, it would hardly fool anyone if the kidnappers are trying some form of mind game - is tossed aside in favor of finding her furs and attempting to leave. They are very inattentive kidnappers, and if she can simply find a house with a telephone - there are none in the place she is, so they're marginally competent kidnappers - she'll phone the police, then Percy.

So, there is now a dour-looking old woman slogging through the snow and looking for doors to knock on. What is the sense of locking her in what appears to be a village. Her opinion of the kidnappers falls once more.

Jay wasn't expecting Aunt Agatha, or indeed anyone that would be upset by the sight of a man in a frilly nightgown. In his defence, he'd just woken up and was still working his way up to getting dressed. He hadn't even managed to put on matching legs, just yet.

"Er, good morning, darling?" he says, squinting up at the woman. "Do I ... do I know you?"

There's a powerfully built man wrapped in a black cloak standing by the bulletin board, scrutinising the notes and idly trying to figure out the personalities of the inhabitants from their handwriting. So far, he's gathered that most of them have not been trained in penmanship and nothing else useful. He has found notes written in a hand suspiciously resembling Jay's, which has heartened him a little.

Always good to have allies in new and strange places.

He looks more amused than worried and there's something slightly predatory about his expression, too.

Bertie's happy to finally be able to go check the bulletin board now that he's free of his vampirism and the problems associated with it. Well, some of the problems. He's more than a little leery of getting near Ienzo's neck now, and vice versa. But that's to one side. He can trot along in the sunshine now, secure in the knowledge he isn't about to burn to a crisp.

When he sees the dark figure, he offers his cheeriest, "What ho!" and smile. "New to the Meadous are you, old fruit? How do you do? I'm Bertie Wooster. Frightfully sorry if you've been here a bit. I've been rather preoccupied. Oh! What's this? Ah..." Some of these conversations are... embarrassing. A lot of them are, in fact, when thinking of some random bird reading them. "People tend to get a bit overheated on the board now and again. It's a lot of silly nonsense."

There's more than one man in a black cloak lurking around the Meadous, it seems. This one, however, is one whose choice of blacks is a bit more coatish than cloakish. Either way, it is both the sort of thing that doesn't precisely bode very well and also the sort of thing that is probably going to be immediately familiar to a certain subset of people already present.

He cares little for that however. What matters is the people here, and how many of them can be put to good use - something that he cannot tell by the words left on the bulletin board alone. So it is that he can be found drifting along the streets, quietly exploring this new environment.

To those with magical senses, or simply those with enhanced senses he may also read as not only powerful dark but also of the deadly chill of the void.

Ienzo nearly collapses where he stands upon recognizing the scent. That's more Darkness than any other person could bear, it has to be him. But it couldn't be, could it? The little god was young, but even they had to know what would happen if they released someone like him into a place like this. Even children knew not to let wolves wander amongst the flock, right?

It has to be someone else. Another Riku, this one from before Castle Oblivion, and he's simply misremembering and overreacting. That would explain it, yes. He's tempted to just accept that explanation and stay as far away as possible (Riku is still dangerous enough in his own right, especially before he's mastered Xehanort's Heartless), but curiosity gets the better of him. He has to know for sure.

His read on the scent becomes clearer as he approaches, as does the person in question's silhouette, and he immediately regrets his decision. The invisibility he'd wrapped around himself, all of his protective spells fall away as he freezes in place, eyes wide with mortal terror.

"Xemnas," he hisses, voice barely more than a whisper.

The coat is probably the first thing that is familiar to Bertie. Even with so much of his Organization in shambles, Xemnas sees absolutely no reason to not wear that which he has long since become accustomed to. Beyond that, however, is the fact that silver hair tends to be fairly striking in general, especially when paired with the darker tones of his skin.

He doesn't seem to be at all bothered by having found himself in a strange new place either. It will mean he has to yet again rearrange the pieces of the plan (or perhaps simply find new pieces) but he has done so before and will be more than willing to do so once again.

But first, he will need to know all he can about the nature of this place, and sooner or later this is going to mean asking someone. Bertie simply happens to be the most immediately obvious choice, not that Xemnas is about to ask for help. Instead, he offers a nod and waits to see what will come of it.

This place was so small, quiet, deafeningly still. She hated it immediately as soon as she awoke in a casket, finding herself in the quaint little village. After tearing apart her house to relieve some tension, Ophelia doesn't hesitate to leave the house as soon as she's made the place a bit more homey.

Ophelia scowls, ignoring the chill biting at her skin as she steps outside to survey her surroundings. It's all so precious and sweet. She almost wants to puke, almost. The black tears that make up her dress stain the white snow as she makes her way through the village. It's hard to miss the blue woman in the first place. In some part she was looking for Eddie, in another- she wanted to know what this place was.

Depending on what Karkat knows about Organization XIII - regardless of how he might know about them - the coat that this particular arrival to the Meadous is wearing is probably a little familiar. And if it isn't, well... people who willingly go about in black from head to toe aren't often the sort of people who mean well.

But since politeness will do best in a strange new place, he offers a nod to Karkat as he passes. It is, after all, the least he can do.

"YOU." The snarl was deep and gutteral, the voice booming with more power to it than the tall, willowy male could possibly possess as he stormed over, labcoat flapping about his knees.

"Where is she?" His dark brown fur was bristling, making him seem broader, his fangs and glasses flashing. He could smell Mika's scent on this human, and something foul just beneath the surface that made his skin crawl and his fur stand on end, like sulfuric acid. His sister had been taken away too many times and had looked worse and worse with every return, wasting away until she was wraithlike in what had only been a matter of days and swearing she'd been gone for years. He wanted answers and he was not afraid to break any useless meatsacks that stood in his way.

He didn't even care that he'd been taken before he could cover his birthmark that morning, the winestain splotches only darkening in his anger until they were a deep burgundy, throbbing with his pulse. He was very close to slamming his forehead against Eddie's, only saved by the fact that Eddie was only a few inches taller than him. Not that it stopped him from trying to loom over the roadie, his growls loud enough they nearly made his fangs rattle when he bared them.

Golbez is fairly sure he has no memory of this place. He cannot, of course, be entirely positive, but he remembers enough, fragments gathered over cycle upon cycle of battle, to piece the years together, and they have no gap where this village might fit.

He goes, therefore, in search of some explanation, for if this is not an illusion crafted from his memory, then what is it? He does not seek battle, but he has seen too much to not be ready for it in any case, so it is helmed and armored that he strides through the snow.

Kain will answer the question "no" just so none of this actually happens

Golbez isn't the only one helmed and armored this day, although Kain's armor is missing pieces and bears the signs of prolonged struggle. He still patrols, a habit he picked up in the tower and could find no reason to shake. Calm as an average day was, things might still happen. Things requiring his intervention.

And if that black-clad figure sticking out amongst the snowbanks is not a thing to be concerned about, Kain does not know what would be. He'd know that man anywhere, be able to identify him at the slightest glance. Golbez. Why was he here?! He, of all people!? Kain vaults the snowbank that's partially between them both, a short jump by his regular standards, setting himself down a short distance away from Golbez.

"I'll not have any trouble from you. Not in this place, not now."

Is a good influence rather than a bad one okay?

In contrast to all these sinister fellows running around in black cloaks, there's a rather benign-looking little girl making her way through the Meadous. Amane Kurihara isn't really sure what's going on, but she's not terribly afraid. She's always been a brave kid, and besides... help is rarely far behind when strange things like this happen. If it's not Hajime it's Kenzaki... and, well, if worse comes to worse, maybe big brother Kotaro is around somewhere...


Her wanderings haven't quite gotten her to the bulletin board with the others. There are so many neat houses, with neat mailboxes! It's very likely that she's stopped in front of your house, looking at your mailbox this way and that, debating silently to herself if she should open it up and see what's inside.

It's been about two years--had it really been that long?--since Hajime had sensed what he thought he was sensing. There were nights when he sometimes managed a deep enough human sleep to have dreams, and sometimes he managed not to have nightmares of Mayfield or of things that had happened back home. Sometimes he'd have pleasant ones, and he'd see people he missed...but he wasn't asleep now, was he?

Hajime went charging out of his house without a second thought, rushing towards the source of what it was he was sensing. He couldn't be imagining this..."Amane?"

From a distance, it looks like it's just Bakura wandering around, bundled up against the cold. Only closer inspection reveals that it's a slightly younger version of the young man, and anyone who can sense aura or magic may notice there's something a lot... darker about him.

Yami Bakura was of two minds about this whole thing. Being revived once more after his seeming final defeat was something he hadn't expected. With Zork defeated as well, things had not looked good. But here he was, back in his host's body in the middle of nowhere with no signs of any of the Items anywhere.

No signs of anything anywhere for that matter. The hell had his idiot host wound up?

Hajime had been out taking Darkroach for a walk--the big bug trailing along behind him needed exercise and, it would seem, supervision--when he'd spotted Bakura. As he approached to go say hello, he sensed that something was off. Some sort of darkness.

Darkroach sensed it, too, and the minion fell into line behind Hajime, wringing his hands as Hajime went to greet the other as though nothing were wrong. "Bakura." This was said with a simple, casual nod of greeting. Hajime kept his poker face on; time to see what was going on here.

Prompt A

This was one of the more unpleasant awakenings that Jacob Waters had experienced in his many years. For the last thing that he could clearly recall was sustaining the sort of injury that a few vagrants worth of blood and a good day's rest wouldn't fix. The end results of betrayal, betrayal by all of his allies and all those he was certain he had won to his side. It took effort to hold in his rage, and he was thankful for the distraction of unfamiliar surroundings. He rose, he dressed, he explored his little house, read his little note, drank a few bags of blood, and by the end of it all was calm and composed. This was only a setback. Being in this place was, honestly, in the best interests of those that had done this to him. Because he was done with being subtle and operating within the rules. He would return to the Harbourvale court and burn it all to the ground.

But first, he would need to learn about this place that he had been sent to, which called for some exploration. Jacob's first walkabout was done in full Obfuscation, not strictly invisible but simply projecting an aura of 'not there' to anyone that might be around and attempting to observe him. It was the safest way to assess a new situation that he had at his disposal. It was only after taking in the paths and houses and woods and pastel animals and bulletin board (interesting, some of what was on that...) that he dropped the concealment and went on a more purposeful, visible evening stroll. So now there's a vampire in a dark wool coat with a wooden walking stick making his way through the little village. His eyes are sunken, there's an unpleasant red rash creeping along his neck and jawline, and he smells of dampness and rot and the slightest hint of expensive men's cologne. He might well say hello, if someone approaches.

It was a long night and the limits of the village and "Meadous" were small, and so Jacob had managed to walk the entire perimeter of the wall and wind up back where he started. It was nearing dawn and he shouldn't dawdle for much longer, but the structure piqued his interest. There were no gates, no handholds, no cracks, just enormous slabs of rough-hewn stone. Interesting, that. The texture reminded him of something that he couldn't quite place. He's just going to reach out and... try to touch it... yup. Because touching walls is a perfectly normal thing to do. And nothing bad can come of it. Of course.

Codi supposes there could be worse things than waking up in a comfortable bed in a cozy cabin in the middle of nowhere, with no reception and most of her possessions missing. It's almost charming, what with the childish note sitting next to her bed, the pantry full of snacks and chocolates--she could have woken up with someone else in the bed, perhaps, or in a significantly more compromising location than one simply covered in snow and--

The ginger woman spends a full thirty minutes terrorizing the flightless birds before she realizes that there are definitely more pressing matters to attend to. For example: where the hell is she, anyways? That seems important.

As the penguins waddle away in abject terror, Codi stands in the center of the road and calmly clears her throat.

"HEY!!" she bellows at the nearby houses. "Anyone home?!"

He can't remember dying, not this time at least. He can only assume he'd died in his sleep or he's now facing more Capitol fuckery. But damn, if it isn't real motherfucking cozy waking up in sopor for the first time in perigees. He doesn't plan to stay in the hive long; however interesting it may be, it's more likely to be trap than not.

The not-uniform from the arena sits close--circles marked in indigo on the bottom, the t-shirt with his sign in the corner for the top, both of which he pulls back on quick. His face is still still painted though and his hair is still pulled into it's same long sweeping braid. He brandishes the club settled on the table, feeling it's weight before ducking on the fuck out. Naturally, the barrier of the arena surrounds the new land he's been dropped in. Aight. If this was how all they wanted to play all over again, this would be how they up and motherfucking played it.

But just for the gamemakers, just for those miserable malefactoring fucks, he walks out into the deep snow, stares on up at the barrier in the sky, and graciously gives a bird. Like a real motherfucking magician.
