The Best Thing About Not Being Home is Missing You

There are people back home that your character hates. Or maybe they love them, but they're terrible people/influences. Here's your chance to talk or play out that special someone turning up in the Meadous. Are they so far out of their element that they're now defanged tigers? Do they lead right in with their wicked ways? What is your character's CR even going to think when they meet this person?

Post with your own character or the person they most/least want to see again who's a bad thing for them. Feel free to play out encounters in the snow between this character and your regular character's CR, or talk it out with if you're not sure you've got the voice down.

Fun for all ages! And by fun, we mean misery!

Hajime might look just a little dumbfounded by her actually being there as he crouches to meet her in a hug. "Amane! Amane, are you all right? Have you been here long?"

...of course, things would be complicated now. She didn't know the truth about him. Couldn't know the truth. And then he'd gotten rather open about the truth...he wondered if he could go wish Darkroach into a dog or another bee or something less likely to cause any accidental screaming or awkward explanations, but that seemed unfair to Darkroach. And then there was the matter of his current living situation, and he did not think she'd react well to that...but one thing at a time. He'd take things one step at a time, and the important thing now was that Amane was here.

Amane throws herself into the hug, not picking up on any of Hajime's surprise or confusion. What's there to be surprised or confused about?

"I'm fine, I'm fine! I woke up in this little house, and I wasn't sure what to do... but I had winter clothes so I put them on and went exploring!" She adds quickly, "I wasn't afraid." Even if she was, maybe a little. "Hajime... do you know where this is? Where are we?"

She'd had her own house? That was...well, Hajime was at least glad she hadn't woken up in his, for then there would have been more immediate explaining. He pulls back from the hug a bit so he can look her in the eye, make sure she's all right. "It's...complicated. But safe. I promise I'll keep you safe."

Something else occurs to him. "Were you anywhere else strange before this?" He doesn't much like the idea of her being alone in somewhere like Mayfield or in space without him. But if everyone else considered this at least their second stop after being pulled away from home...

Amane can only smile at Hajime's declaration that he'd keep her safe. Of course he would! That's what he's always done, after all. So she nods, understanding. And oh, there are questions to answer... "No... I wasn't anywhere special. I was home. I went to bed, and when I woke up, I was here." She gives her head a curious tilt. "What do you mean, somewhere strange?"

Hajime hesitates. "Well, before I came here, I got taken to a couple of other places. A small town in America. A giant spaceship." He falls silent a moment. "Time...passes strangely in places like this."

"Oh... you were traveling? But you were still at home with us...." The talk of America doesn't mean much to her, but at the talk of the spaceship, her face lights up. "Aaah! You were in space? For real? You're kidding, Hajime! How'd you get onto a space ship?" He's teasing. He must be teasing. Even if things like monsters and Kamen Riders were real, some things still had to be imaginary.

"I promise! I was on a space ship. One moment, I was in America, and then I woke up to some alien shoving a lot of paperwork in my face." He's fine if she thinks he's teasing, and the smiling way he's saying this isn't doing much to dispel the notion.
