Inspired by XI's WHAT-IF WEDNESDAY and explained by past-Harry of Jarjammed as "that day of the week when we throw out an AU or ~imaginary story~ and you all post what your characters are up to in the context of this situation and/or thread their alternate reality selves getting their wacky alternate reality hijinks on."

Your muse(s) are magically now high school boarding students... or maybe they're still old enough to be teachers? Well, the point is, they're all stuck in a school together. Which clique are they in? What has induced them to all associate with one another? Who's making out behind the gym? And do you trust the food they serve in the cafeteria?

Hajime is the antisocial quiet guy who kind of skulks around the edges of any social functions he's forced to attend. His best subject is easily gym class, and he'd be one of the star players of any sports team if he actually cared to join a team. At one point, he somehow got coerced into joining the wrestling team but was kicked out for unnecessary roughness. He has ended up in the principal's office on more than one occasion for fighting.

He also owns a motorcycle, which likely does positive things for his relative cool levels despite the fact that he's too quiet and too into keeping to himself.

I'm thinking that Natalie and Hajime both hail from the same very very small town. And they both never talk about it.

She's likely his friend in the sense that she's sort of always knew him, so she can approach him because "It's just Hajime. That's just how he is" and that's okay?

Yes! Home is just not a place that gets talked about much at all, though if pressed by anyone else, Hajime might mention that they used to live across the street from each other.

And if he sees any other guys talking to her in a way that makes him suspicious of the other guy's intentions, he may take them out behind the school for a friendly little chat of some sort. Said chat in no way involves anyone getting a black eye or anything. Just looking out for his friend, after all. Maybe he'll figure out that he should really ask her to prom next time it rolls around.

Yup, same neighborhood... (this has got shades of those fake Mayfield memories, come to think of it. Egad.)

Oh, Hajime. Always with the punching. Seems like the sort of thing he's managed to keep quiet about doing, but I can see him getting caught in it once, and her getting upset, less because she was particularly into the guy and more because he's punching people on her behalf. :| Aaah, and she probably isn't making it any easier for him to work up the nerve to ask her to prom, with her loudly going on about how stupid it is and how prom is totally for losers (even if she'd totally go if someone asked) and prom sucks, man, to hell with prom.

Haha, I can see him just quietly squirming each time she talks about it like that and wondering if it's actually a good idea like he hopes. If he ever works up the nerve, he'll phrase it as something like, "Want to go to prom and watch everyone else be idiots?"

Aaah, the perfect way to put it. And there'd be a blink, and a bit of gawping, and then "...yes! To watch everyone else be idiots. Yes."

Glad to know that they're both still kind of awkward. :3
